Vice President of Engineering
With over 25 years of Silicon Valley experience, Ted serves as the VP of Engineering for the Blue Jeans team. Prior to joining the team, Ted was the founder and GM of the Cisco TelePresence Exchange Business Unit (TXBU), where he was responsible for developing video technologies used in Cisco's SP-grade B2B Exchange offering. Throughout his 8-year stint at Cisco, Ted’s teams consistently developed unique collaboration applications and operated them in the market with 5x9’s reliability. Ted also led innovation in this time by creating a highly Agile development process used to deliver TelePresence to the market through a SaaS business model.
Prior to Cisco, Ted had been a founding member of 3 communications start-up companies, two of which became very successful public companies. Most recently, Ted was a founder and VPE for Latitude Communications and received multiple patents for the MeetingPlace product line that featured voice, web and video conferencing applications for the enterprise. At Latitude, Ted was responsible for transforming the company business model into a hosted/managed services offering before the company was sold to Cisco in 2004. Ted had a robust 8-year career at Aspect Telecommunications where he started as its first design engineer and left as the Director of Engineering in 1993. Ted's most memorable experience however was his role as a founding engineer of DAVID Systems where he joined 10 exceptional engineers in an apartment and help create and all digital voice and data PBX from scratch. Ted obtained his Sc.B. in Electrical Engineering from Brown University and MSEE degree from Stanford University where he also served as a consultant lecturer for several years. Ted maintains a passion for all sports and spends time out of work with his wife and four children.
