Systems Administrator and Tools Developer

This is a technical role for an early stage, fast-paced Silicon Valley start-up in the video infrastructure space. Our System Administrator/Tools Developer will be responsible for developing tools and scripts to provision, deploy, monitor and control a globally distributed cloud based service.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for monitoring and managing a globally distributed cloud based service
- Develop scripts and tools to provision, deploy, control and monitor clusters of servers
Qualifications
- Experience administering large networks and Linux systems
- Developer with a strong background in scripting and automation using languages like bash/Python/Ruby/Perl to automate administrative tasks.
- Experience in provisioning and deploying Linux applications and upgrading software on a running system
- Experience configuring applications like DHCP, DNS, NTP, SMTP, SNMP, Syslogs etc.
- Web development experience for in-house monitoring and control would be a definite plus.
- A fair understanding of Networking concepts, and ability to administer Firewalls, Switches, Routers via open source NMS products and SNMP
- Experience with applications like PXE, Chef server, Nagios would be very desirable.
- Cloud computing and virtualization experience a plus
- Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule to enable interactions across multiple time zones with US HQ
