Today we’re pleased to announce Blue Jeans release 2.3. This update to the Blue Jeans service offers presenters an enriched content sharing experience with a sharing widget, Lync 2013 support and an enhanced video sharing experience.
In 2007 Apple delivered a revolutionary device to the world. Many users adopted the new device by the millions within a few weeks. When the "iPhone OS" 2.0 was introduced (the name of the iOS art the time), we saw a huge adoption for corporate users since they added in some abilities for enterprise email, calendaring, among other features.
At Blue Jeans, we embrace the mobile lifestyle and the idea that a person does not need a traditional laptop to accomplish #AWESOME work. Many of our customers have been embracing mobile work styles and have been waiting for the mobile team to expand our current client set.
To build on the momentum of our Intercall integration, we recently conducted a national survey. The survey revealed that 94% of respondents believe that face-to-face communication improves business relationships. While this statistic doesn’t surprise me as much, it’s interesting that 91% percent have never seen many of the people they work with on a daily or weekly basis.
Cisco Jabber is a desktop client that is capable of voice, video, im, chat, presence, and visual voicemail. Cisco’s acquisition of Tandberg’s allowed them to add the powerful Movi client’s video engine into Jabber. This enhancement in video has caused a lot of enterprises to consider using Jabber instead of Lync as their desktop strategy moving forward.
With the holidays coming up, I often think about the various nonprofit organizations that ramp up their charity efforts this time of year. I’m sure that the busy season also requires more coordination and collaboration amongst teams, wherever they may be located.
‘mHealth’ (or mobile health) a segment of telehealth, is becoming a critical part of patient care as it enables access to rural areas, faster ability to make diagnoses, and provide ongoing medical education. Here at Blue Jeans Network, we often hear of folks who are just too scared to be on a video conference. Part of that comes from a discomfort of how we think we look on video. There are plenty of things to be scared of (especially during Halloween) but being on a video conference doesn't have to be one of them! By avoiding certain trapdoors, you can always look your best on a video call.
Earlier this year, Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer issued a company-wide mandate which banned work from home policies and called employees back into the office. You may recall that Blue Jeans had some fun with this and put out personal call to Marissa and offered our video conferencing service as a solution.
